Posting Poem

Put Your Hand on my Heart…feel that…It’s real

My tongue feels rain fall gently upon it

As my heart beats to the tune of Three Years Later

I feel your faint touch upon my face

as you

softly whisper

the lyrics in my ear

You place your mushrooms upon my tongue

I swallow

I allow them to take hold of my beating heart

You left me

Standing alone in the rain

I wash my hair to cleanse myself of you

But it’s no good-my music man comes strumming back.

I’m pulled back in by your Slytherin tongue

Wandering aimlessly, I foolishly take your mushrooms again

My heart inflates like a balloon

But alas the “hen” tells me the truth

Foxes brush their teeth with axes

The same axes that cut your mushrooms-

the same ones coursed through my blood stream moments earlier

My heart shrinks to the size of a small stone pebble

The words you left me with are nothing more than a tail-

A tail that I hang myself with every time I eat your mushrooms.
